Summary


This section of the Rainbow Trail travels along the base of Methodist Mountain located just south of Salida. This is a great trail to hike, bike or ride motorcycle right from town. The trail stretches east for 5 miles to the Bear Creek trailhead or you can travel west for about 8 miles to the Mears Junction trailhead.

Directions

From US Highway 50 turn onto County Road 107(there is a stoplight, across from True Value Hardware) and head south. The road will pass a green house and nursery on the right. Continue on CR 107 to where the pavement ends and the road continues as a dirt road. At this point the road continues up the hill and becomes CR 108. Stay on CR 108 for 4.5 miles to the trailhead. Parking: Parking is available at the trailhead for approximately 6 vehicles
