The Lower Indian Creek Trail #021 is 4.9 miles long (an additional 1.7 miles are on a BLM road, total of 6.6 miles). It begins at Forest Road #104 and continues through the Forest Service Boundary onto BLM lands to intersect State Route 211 at Newspaper Rock State Historical Monument. The portion on the BLM is a road rather than a trail. This trail follows a bench along the bank of Indian Creek. Elevation Change: South End (Road #104): 7,434 feet North End (FS Boudary): 6,430 feet

From Monticello, turn west onto 200 South and stay left at the Y onto Abajo Dr., continue on Harts Draw Rd (Forest Road #049) approximately 12 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road #100 (Indian Creek) and travel approximately 1.1 miles to Foy Lake (Spring Lake). At the lake turn right onto Forest Road #104 (Shay Ridge) and continue approximately 3.0 miles to Lower Indian Creek Trail #021.
