The Reservoir Canyon Trail #008 is 1.7 miles long. It begins at Forest Trail #164 (Vega Creek) and ends at Forest Road #096 (Maverick Point). The trail drops steeply into a canyon along North Cottonwood Creek, an intermittent stream. This trail is intersected by Forest Trail #074 (Vega Canyon) which is open to motorcycles and non-motorized users only. Elevation Change: This trail accends 1,004 feet in a little over a mile and a half. North East End (Trail #164): 6,486 feet South West End (Road #096): 7,490 feet

From Monticello, turn west onto 200 South and stay left at the Y onto Abajo Dr., continue on North Creek (FH 49- Loop/Harts Draw) and travel approximately 4.7 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road #079 (Indian Creek) and continue approximately 17.3 miles. Turn right onto Forest Road #095 (Causeway) and continue approximately 14.2 miles. Turn right onto Vega Creek Trail #164 and travel 6.2 miles to Reservoir Canyon Trail #008.
