This area provides the easiest beach access in the Oregon Dunes for beach walking and ocean viewing. This stretch of beach is closed to off-highway vehicle (OHV) use. The most popular OHV destination at the Oregon Dunes, the Umpqua dunes area has two large OHV day use staging areas, dispersed sand camping access, and is adjacent to large OHV developed facilities managed by Douglas County Parks. A ride to the top of a tall dune offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The beach provides miles of walking and is closed to OHV travel year-round.
