Summary


This area provides the easiest beach access in the Oregon Dunes for beach walking and ocean viewing.  This stretch of beach is closed to off-highway vehicle (OHV) use. The most popular OHV destination at the Oregon Dunes, the Umpqua dunes area has two large OHV day use staging areas, dispersed sand camping access, and is adjacent to large OHV developed facilities managed by Douglas County Parks. Located south of Winchester Bay, this area is home to the tallest sand dunes in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Umpqua Beach #3 Day Use and Staging Area provides parking for pedestrian beach access as well as off-highway vehicle (OHV) staging and access to open riding opportunities in the Umpqua dunes. A ride to the top of a tall dune offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The beach provides miles of walking and is closed to OHV travel year-round.
