Nellis Dunes

AKA: Apex, Las Vegas Dunes

Summary

Located just off the highway in the outskirts of Las Vegas, this open area is easy to get to. The terrain is actually more of a mix of hard pack and loose dry dirt on endless rolling hills, and there are not as many actual sand dunes as the name implies, but there are some (south). This is a good practice spot for locals or family day trips. Riders should use some extra caution because the area has a lot of rider traffic on weekends, many novices, and countless jumps and intersecting trails. Nellis Dunes has no services, no shade and is primarily a day use area.
