Located near the Colorado and Utah border, this large open area has miles of desert trails that wind through sandstone formations. The terrain consists of dirt roads, steep and rocky single track and some steep drop offs. There are three designated campgrounds however large RVs are discouraged from using Castle Rock or Knowles Canyon campgrounds due to rough and narrow main entrances. Vegetation is sparse and mainly consists of pinyon-juniper trees, sage and various scrub brush. Firewood is scarce so bring your own.
