Known to many as "Motorcycle Island", Appalachia Bay ORV Area is actually a peninsula with a small strip of land that connects to the island which can overflow if the water level goes over 75’, creating an actual island that is separated from the mainland. Appalachia Bay ORV Area is very popular due to the wide variety of terrain that ranges from open beaches, briar bushes, occasional mud pits and miles of twisty sandy trails that wind through the woods. Expect crowds during regular and three day holiday weekends.
