This new offroad area has 8,600 acres of wooded forest and about 56 miles of multiple-use trails that mainly consists of old logging roads. The terrain is mostly hard packed and smooth, making it a good choice for beginners or those just looking for a relaxing ride. Doe Mountain Recreation Area is open daily from 8am to 5pm. Overnight parking is not permitted but camping can be found a short distance away at Roan Creek Campground. Cabin and lake house rentals can be found about 10 miles away. A permit is required which can be purchased onsite during weekends or at local vendors during the week.
