Bear Wallow Trail

Summary


The Bear Wallow Trail - leaves Forest Service (FS) Road 693 and heads south along the ridge between Scriver Creek and the Middle Fork of the Payette River. It cuts along the grand fir forest type as it drops in elevation to the ponderosa pine types. As the trail descends it passes through some old burns and timber harvest units before terminating on private land. The trail provides access to the top of the One Spoon Trail, which drops down to the Middle Fork of the Payette River. Please stay on the trails, this is a designated area for travel management. The trailhead is located on Scriver Creek Raod (Forest Service Road 693).

Directions

From Boise, Idaho, travel State Highway 55 north 38 miles to Banks, Idaho. Turn east onto the State Highway 17 also known as the Banks/Lowman Road and proceed to Crouch, Idaho. From Crouch, continue north along Forest Service (FS) Road 698 for approximately 5.3 miles to Scriver Creek FS Road 693. Proceed west along FS Road 693 for approximately 11.1 miles to the trailhead. The trailhead begins on Scriver Creek Road (FS Road 693). The trail ends where it reaches private land.
