This high desert area has about 1,200 acres of multiple-use trails. Vegetation is sparse but consists of mixed juniper and pine trees and scattered scrub brush. The staging area has plenty of spacious parking and primitive camping is permitted. Most of the trails are marked and rated and range from hard packed to rocky and rugged. Cline Buttes Recreation Area is open year-round but the best time to visit is during the spring and fall months.
