Summary


This high desert area has about six miles of ATV trails and 62 miles of surrounding 4x4 trails. Most of the trails are dusty with loose rocks however the Joshua Tree trail is smooth, fast and has many berms. The main staging area is large and amenities include a loading ramp, vault toilets and a informational kiosk with trail maps. Camping is permitted but there is no water or shade so come prepared.

Trail Information: Cactus Flat OHV Staging Area

AKA: add an alternate name

Cactus Flat OHV Staging Area is off of Highway 18, north of Big Bear and south of Lucerne Valley.  Look for Forest Road 3N03 and go southeast, following the signs to the staging area. There is a vault toilet and a couple of picnic tables at the staging area along with ample parking and informtional signs.  Camping is allowed, but campfires (wood and charcoal) are not allowed.

Fee

An Adventure Pass is required on vehicles parked at staging area. Vehicles on the OHV routes require either a license plate, red, or green sticker. Information for red and green sticker regulations and licensing requirements can be found at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov Adventure Passes are $5/day or $30/year. Interagency Passes also accepted.
